Since my office was getting shifted to Cunningham road from Millenia towers (Near ulsoor lake) i was thinking about cycling to office. The first day to our new office i took out my bike to see how the traffic are and can i manage without breaking my hand this time 🙂 Except for the section from JCRoad till i take a turn onto Highcourt the traffic is manageable.. On my way back its an easy ride with manageable traffic. I just need to stick onto the left side of the road and pray for god that no one comes and hits me. 🙂
So the next day i took out my cycle and headed towards office and my wife angry that i was out of my mind. It was an easy ride till JCRoad and asusual traffic peaked. Just stuck to my basics and was on the left side of the road and reached my office in 48 minutes. Wow.. Good pace i thought to myself. With my bike i would have done the12.5 kilometers in 30 minutes. An extra 20 minutes was not so bad and i was cycling and keeping myself fit. On my way back, it was an easy ride and i had no issues. I just needed to stay focussed and follow the basics of cycling. Well that was it for that week, next day i had to reach home early and i went by bike.
3 days this week i have been cycling to office and i am certainly improving on the time. Today’s time was 43 minutes 🙂 a good 5 minutes down on the 1st day. I hope the whole of next week i can cycle. But my wifey thinks i will become more thin if i cycle daily. I just need to eat more and prove her wrong <Any suggestions here> 🙂 next week ill take some pics of the traffic at different junctions and post here. 🙂 Till then GO CYCLING!!!
Had been on a cycle after a week and gone to my parents place.. was a bit tired after riding for 10 km on hot sun.. It was nice bt then tragedy struck while coming back.. An auto overtook me and touched me slightly and i lost my balance and in a second i was down and my cycle on me.. Was happy that it was just a scratch so decided to ride back home.. Rode back 10 km wit pain shooting in my left hand.. Once i reached home my wife saw the injury and shouted @ me saying cant u take an auto nd cme bck?? I jst smiled back @ her.. I decided to take rest and after an hour my hand started to swell.. My wife got scared and took me to a doc.. The doc gave me a tetvac and told me get an xray done to see if there are any broken bones.. after the gettin the xray done we got an idea dat no bones are broken bt yet to get it confirmed from doc.. As of now just relaxing on the sofa and typing this with kadri gopalnath flute playing in the background.. Still cant feel anythin on my left hand and the movements are also restricted.. man its tough to type using one hand… 🙂
Its been more than a week now and i was daily cycling my way to office.. But there was something missing.. The distance travelled, the speed @ which i was going.. All i was doing was just monitor my time.. Guess i dont wait too much and i dont want to be in void for a longer time.. Got myself a wireless odometer.. dB4LW.. Its got total distance covered, trip meter, average speed, max speed, time and kmph.. Well this is what i was looking for.. Installation was quite easy as it just few stips to mount and a sensor to attach. After few tries and few adjustments to the sensors the odometer started.. Today was the real test of my odometer.. Started my morning early and hit my usual uttarahalli road.. The speed shown was encouraging me to go faster.. Well in one of the slopes i touched 42 kmph..
Total distance – 8.52 km ( Home to Office)
Average Speed – 19kmph (:o))
Was happily seing all the reading and then i kept my cell near it.. To my surprise the device started running and messed up my data.. 😦 Got to know that i should keep away from any electronic and magentic devices.. YuK!!! I need to safegaurd this to keep my data safe.. What a headache..
My latest acquisition is RockRider 5.2.. Yeah Yeah people are saying you are crazy, you have gone nuts, Have u seen urself in the mirror, Why are you driving a cycle when you have a CAR and bike.. Its a damn good cycle with gears and a nice experience to ride a bike again.. The idea of buying a cycle and using it regularly was @ my head for a long time.. Guess now its a reality.. All thanx to loki bhai.. He was also planning to buy one and we got a good deal @ decathlon located in Sarjapur road.. We decided to go on a sunday as his friend CSP had a membership card. We all met @ Silkboard junction and went ahead in a bus. Though initially i had thought ill buy a 5.1 version but later after hearing to CSP and a bit of comparision finally decided to buy the next version..
